Scaling AI for 3,000+ WordPress Installations

The Automated Blog Content Creator is a WordPress plugin for AI-powered content generation, built and maintained since 2024. Currently at 3,000+ active installs — all organic, no paid acquisition.

The Challenge

Most WordPress AI plugins in 2024 were either too limited or too technical for general users. The goal was a reliable LLM integration that worked across the varied PHP environments and server configurations of real WordPress installations.

The Solution

I managed the entire product lifecycle, from initial architecture to global support loops.

1. Architecture

PHP backend for WordPress compatibility, React UI for the generation interface. The goal was for the plugin to feel native to the dashboard — not like something bolted on from outside.

2. LLM Integration

Modular integration supporting OpenAI, Claude, and other providers. Rate limiting and error handling are built in — users' API credits shouldn't disappear on failed or duplicate requests.

3. Feedback Loop

Early adopters drove the feature roadmap. The most-requested additions — SEO metadata generation, image integration — came directly from support threads and user feedback, not from a planned spec.
